  • Director of Development – Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia

    The Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for a driven, relationship-oriented fundraising leader to join a respected and mission-driven organization working at the forefront of hunger relief across Coastal Georgia. The Director of Development will play a critical role in building strong philanthropic support for Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia’s mission to end hunger in our community.

The Director of Development will lead a growing development team and be responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of the Food Bank’s development and fundraising strategy during an important time of transition. This includes cultivating individual, foundation, and corporate donors, overseeing fundraising campaigns and events, and managing donor communications. The ideal candidate will bring a mix of hands-on fundraising experience, team leadership, and a passion for helping others.

The Director of Development reports to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the CEO will be transitioning this year as Mary Jane Crouch retires after more than two decades of service to the food bank. Therefore, the new Director of Development will be an essential partner in helping the new CEO successfully lead the food bank into the future.

This is a visible and collaborative role requiring strong strategic and operational capabilities, excellent interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to the mission and the team of Second Harvest of Coastal Georgia.

    The Organization

With facilities in Savannah and Brunswick, we provide more than 25 million pounds of food each year to over 246 local charitable agencies and programs including food pantries, shelters, and schools.

Through innovative programs like Kids Café, Mobile Food Pantry, and Senior Meals, and in partnership with community organizations and volunteers, Second Harvest is dedicated to nourishing lives, building community resilience, and eliminating food insecurity.
